Affirmations for the third and last row of the Major Arcana

In this line we see a return and a completion with the World card. This is the line of completion, or reconnection with spirit and all things, a return home-to ourselves and oneness.

When we reach the World card the duality we saw in the Devil (the card that we start this row with) is gone as we reconnect with the source of all things. In the world card we see a non binary figure, we see movement like all things in nature. Only the Fool and the World card show figures moving, which is why we will return to the Fool here too, as the return to beginners mind, and completion. Or as Rachel Pollack says in her book 78 Degress of Wisdome “we return to the Fool…innocence and emptiness, united with wisdom.”

All things run in a spiral, all things have cycles, including our Tarot deck. Which is why, I love this practice. It is a little reflection and guidebook for our lives. We all run the same, as in nature with it’s rhythms and lessons, and are full of infinite possibilities.

Affirmations

The Devil

Notice the chains around the character’s necks, they would be able to remove them. But they don’t. This is our habitual thinking and acting-we are often comfortable in our habits-even if they are not good for us! Also go back to the Lovers card in the first line and notice how similar the image is. Healthy choices vs unhealth. Blessed union vs. crazy hot addictive love.

I break the chains of my habits

I stay present and see the changes I need to make

I let the habits leave with love and without guilt

Habits start in spider webs and end in chains

I examine my life with love, I notice the excuses I make for my habitual behavior, I see how it has served me, And I let theses excuses go, reframing my actions

In this card it is all coming down, our ground is shaken, but…it is clearing a path for new growth-this does not mean it feels good at the time.

This card is from the Modern Witch deck

The Tower

I lean into my evolution and potential

I allow the brushfire of the tower to burn away the remnants of my old self

The tearing down of old ways allow me to truly evolve

The Tower came down, things seemed chaotic and a hot mess. But now is the calm after the storm. The hot soak after a long arduous day. We have regained balance, and are learning to alchemize our lessons.

The Star

I allow my unique spiritual sparkle to shine, and i see the light in the world

I embrace my inner beauty

I allow my divinity to shine

I am balanced and feel at home in all places, I am and I have enough

I stand for what I believe

Again we see an After Tarot card, and this card shows us how we can bring together the energy of our wolf/wild sides with our dog/domesticated sides. As is often the case in Tarot it is a balancing of the dualities we see in life. This helps us see through the illusions, we can find what is real for us, on our way to enlightenment

The Moon

I can see through the illusions and find my truth

I can balance my wild and domestic sides to be my authentic self

I know I can find my way

See the joy in the child on the horse, arms outstretched to take it all in? The beautiful sun and blooming flowers? We have all had these moments when all is right with the world. Enjoy it!

The Sun

My light shines like the sun

Childlike joy is my birthright

I allow unbridled joy into my life

I let the beauty around me infuse me with happiness

We see a coming home in this card, being called home to source which is where we are heading in the next card

Judgement

I listen to the call to change and transform

I am open to hear my soul’s calling (you could focus on your 5th and 6th chakra with this affirmation too!

I call all the pieces of myself home

I am ready to move into my soul’s longing

The World

The World is often seen as analogous to Lord Shiva in Hinduism-as he dances he simultaneously detroys and creates the universe-the dancer is similar in structure to him in the deck, right foot on earth, left raised, seen as androgenous and moving, I have heard it said that how well we dance with Shiva is how well we move through life, with flow and acceptance. So for that please enjoy the following affirmations

I flow effortlessly with my life.

I dance to the rythm of the universe with grace and beauty

I am balanced and connected, nature, my self and the universe.

This card is from the Queer Tarot deck which is one of my favorite. The art is amazing, and each person in the deck is one of the authors or artist friends. In the booklet that accompanies the deck, the describe the art style and how it is produced and who each person is, often with their social media account linked. It is just a wonderful deck and resource. Definitely read the book that comes with it!

The Fool

Refreshed from my last journey I am ready to start again

I embrace the beginners mind

Life is spiralic, I am ready!
